7회 - 취미소개2 (쇼핑)

열랑 : 어렵게만 느껴졌던 영어 공부를, 좀 더 쉽게 할 수 있도록 도와드리고자 시작한, ‘둥가둥가의 OPIc Hi’가 벌써 7회 방송을 맞았습니다! 지금까지 방송을 들으시면서 열심히 공부 하셨으리라 믿어 의심치 않는데요, 방송 7회째를 맞아서, OPIc Hi에서 이벤트를 마련했습니다. 오늘 방송이 끝날 때쯤 퀴즈를 내 드릴 거에요. 퀴즈의 답은, 오늘 방송 내용 중에 있습니다! 오늘은 이벤트도 있으니까, 좀 더 집중해서 열심히 공부 해 보도록 해요- 저는 OPIc Hi 의 진행자 열랑이구요, 오늘도 역시 Jiah Kim 선생님과 문희성씨 함께 해 주셨습니다. 지아 : Hello guys and all of our wonderful listeners!

How was your week?

희성& 열랑: Good. I had to study an exam at school.

지아: I hope you still had time to review our previous lesson!

열랑: 그럼요~ 저번시간에는 취미생활, 특히 스포츠에 대한 이야기를 했었잖아요. 평소에 관심이 적어서 생각을 안해봤던 부분이라, 갑작스럽게 질문을 받으니까 대답하기가 좀 어렵더라구요.

희성: 저는 스포츠를 좋아해서인지 다른 질문보다 대답하기가 쉽던데요? 열랑씨도 좀 다양~~하게 관심을 가져보세요. 하하하-

지아 : I want to know the expressions that you remember from our previous lesson. 열랑?

열랑 : **저번 시간 복습

희성 : 문장을 매끄럽게 이어나가는 표현도 기억나요. “예전에 말했듯이~”라는 표현은 like I said  before, 그리고 “~을 기대하다”라는 말은 I’m looking forward to 라는 표현을 쓰는것도요. 저 이만하면 복습 잘한거죠? 요즘은 영어공부가 재밌다니까요~

지아 : Yes, I can see that you’re passion for English is getting stronger by day.

Today, we’ll discuss a bit more about our hobbies.

Like we promised, today’s topic will be on SHOPPING!  Yay~

열랑 : 취미의 종류에는 정말 여러 가지가 있잖아요. 꼭 스포츠나 쇼핑이 아니더라도, 오늘 배운 표현들을 잘 응용하면 어떤 주제를 말하더라도 유용하게 쓸 수 있으니까, 열심히 배워보도록 해요. 그럼 선생님, 문제 주시죠!

지아 :Okay, let me throw a specific question for 열랑.

Q: You have stated that you are a fashionista.  How do you keep up with the trends?

What kind of style are you into?

열랑: 네, 자기소개를 하는 시간에 제가 fashion에 관심이 있다고 했는데요, 어떻게 유행을 따르고 있는지, 어떤 스타일을 좋아하는지를 묻는 질문이었습니다. 선생님, “you are into”라는 표현이, ~에 꽂히다! 정말 좋아하다 라는 뜻인가요?

지아: Yes, I’m into fashion. I’m into jazz.

희성, you can say I’m into sports.

희성: Okay, I’m into pretty girls.

열랑 : 아~ 희성씨 이제 응용도 참 잘하시네요.

실제 OPIc 시험에서는, 문제가 나오기 전에 간단한 설문조사를 통해서 내게 맞는 맞춤형 문제가 나오거든요. 1번 문제에서 대답을 잘 했다면, 2번 문제에서는 1번 주제에서 좀 더 심화된 질문이 나오는 형태입니다. 1번에 답을 잘 못했다면, 2번으로 가기 전에 다시 한 번 설문조사를 해서 내게 맞는 문제를 받는 형태죠. 좀 더 깊이있게 이야기 하는 방법도 연습 해 봐야 할 것 같은데요, 그럼 선생님 질문에 제가 먼저 한 번 답해 보도록 할게요.

I’m really interested in fashion so I like go shopping. Before, I used to wear clothes that were small but I got fat, I like my big clothes.

Like I said before, the color that I like most is black because it makes the body shape slimmer than real shape!  When I go shopping, I spend more than 2 hours to compare each items so that I can buy clothes with reasonable price.

지아 : 잘 들었어요. 문장 중간에 어색한 부분을 좀 고쳐볼게요.

I am really into fashion.

I like go shopping -> I like to shop, or I like shopping.

Or learn this word too.  I like going on a shopping spree! 

Before, I used to wear clothes that were tight but now that I’ve gained a few kilograms, I like my clothes to be a bit loose.

The color that flatters my figure the most is black.  

열랑 : 아~ 그런 표현들도 있었네요. (**선생님이 가르쳐주신 부분 한 번 더 언급!)

지아: Let’s now hear from 희성.

How often do you go shopping for clothes? 

What kind of apparel do you often purchase?

희성: 질문이…뭐였죠? 어…어패럴???

열랑 : apparel은 “의류”를 뜻하는 단어죠~ 얼마나 쇼핑을 자주 가는지, 어떤 종류의 옷을 주로 구입하는지를 물어본 질문이었어요!

희성 : 아… 듣기가 아직 잘 안되서, 시험보러 가서 문제 잘 못 알아들을까봐 걱정도 많이 되네요..ㅠㅠ 하다보면 늘겠죠? 흠…선생님 한번만 더 질문해 주세요.

지아: How often do you go shopping for clothes? 

What kind of apparel do you often purchase?

희성:

I don’t like shopping.

I buy my clothes from the street.  I like clothes that have nothing and comfortable.  If I want to buy clothes, I go into the store to buy it and come back out before 30 minutes.

Some my guy friends like to shop with their girlfriends but I like playing sports.  Or watch a movie.  Or…sleep and eat.

지아 :  The question was actually on shopping but okay.  You shared about your hobbies since you don’t like to shop.

Just like the tip I gave to 열랑 earlier, you can say “I am not really into shopping.”

Most of the time, I buy my clothes in street vendors. 

I like clothes that are simple and comfortable to wear. If I have something in mind, I usually go into the department store to buy it and come back out in less than 30 minutes.

Some of my guy friends like to shop for long hours with their girlfriends but I prefer to spend my time playing sports.

When I’m on a date, I like to go watch a movie.

In my free time, I catch up on my sleep.

열랑 : 아까도 나왔듯이, into 라는 표현은 “~에 꽂히다, 정말 좋아하다” 라는 뉘앙스로 자주 사용되네요. 쇼핑을 정말 좋아한다 라고 할 때는, “I am really into shopping.”

거리의 상점이라는 단어는 street vendors라고 하는군요. 입기에 편한 옷은 comfortable to wear 이라고 하구요! “~을 더 선호하다”라는 표현은, prefer to 라는 말을 쓰네요~ 와, 정말 배워야 할 표현들이 많네요.

희성 : 30분 이내에 라는 표현은 before 30 minutes 가 아니라…less than 30 minutes라고 하는구나…

지아 : Okay, are you all done writing it down?
